INCLEMENT WEATHER POLICY

NYA has historically followed suit with the Newtown Public Schools when making weather related adjustments and cancelations to NYA programs, classes, and operating hours.

Facility Operating Hours:

Impact to the general facility hours (M – F, 6am – 8pm & S – S, 7am – 5pm) through delayed opening, early closure, and/or building closure will be communicated with as much advanced notice as possible through email and the NYA Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Group Exercise Classes and NYA Programs:

​

NYA programs, including Group Fitness classes, may be canceled even if the facility is open due to instructor availability during weather events. In the event of paid program cancelations, makeup classes will be scheduled. Program and Group Fitness class schedule changes will also be communicated via email and the NYA Facebook and Instagram accounts.

 

Independent Events at NYA:

NYA hosts many programs that are run by independent organizations (local sports teams, Newtown P&R, etc). If you are a participant of one of these programs, you must check with your event/program organizer for weather related cancelation information.
